As the store welcomes many international visitors, the concept was to express a sense of “Japaneseness” without relying on traditional or overtly “Japanese” motifs. Instead, wood is used in areas that people directly touch—such as the display surfaces for eyewear and the seating of benches—bringing warmth and tactility to the experience.
At the back of the store, a bengara (iron oxide red) color—originally used in JINS’s first store—is applied. This tone resonates with the brick warehouse architecture of Maebashi, where JINS was founded, as well as with the red brick façade of Tokyo Station’s Marunouchi building.
